The Bachelor of Science in Finance is a four-year course intended to equip learners with key quantitative and analytical skills needed for financial decision making in a complex, competitive and globalized business environment. The graduates with this specialization are expected to develop skills that will enable them carry out financial activities in a wide range of organizations. Graduates of this programme will acquire knowledge to enable them pursue postgraduate studies or earn professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA).

The entry requirements set out below are only minimum, and do not in any way entitle an applicant to a place in the University. Admission shall be offered to a holder of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with mean grade C+ (C plus) at KCSE with a C (plain) in Mathematics; OR a holder of Two (2) Principals and 1 subsidiary and at least a credit in Mathematics and English/Kiswahili in KCE; OR two (2) Principals and a subsidiary pass obtained at different sittings OR a Diploma holder with at least a credit or equivalent qualification from a senate recognized institution in the relevant field of specialization; OR holders CPA/CPS II; OR holders of HND in Business related disciplines from senate recognized institutions. Holders of at least CPA/CPS III, Diploma or HND may attract credit transfer. Such cases shall be treated on a case by case basis. Additional or specific entry requirements as may be specified by the respective Department, Faculty, School, Institute, or professional regulatory bodies offering the Degree programme.
Courses taken to fulfil graduation requirements are drawn from a cluster of University Common Core courses and from those specified by Faculties and Departments. In order to fulfil the graduation requirements for Bachelor of Science in Finance degree, candidates are required to take and pass at least 148 credit factors of courses approved by the Senate. The modes of delivery shall be: Full-time, Evening, Part-time, Bi-semester, Trimester, E-leaning and School based. Full Time Students shall be required to complete at least 18 CFs each semester. The Bachelor of Science in Finance programme takes FOUR academic years comprising of eight semesters for full time students. Part-time students may be allowed to cover the programme within EIGHT academic years.
