One of the greatest problems the world is faced with today is that of providing food for its human population that is steadily increasing and constantly creating a food deficit. This is true for our nation as well. In particular, the provision of protein to human diet is crucial for good health and development that translates into a healthy human resource. Good health is necessary for the optimization of human productivity hence improved economic development. There is thus need for every nation to endeavour to develop highly qualified personnel with the relevant knowledge and skills to contribute towards the achievement of food sufficiency.
