The course is designed to offer a holistic approach in addressing development issues in communities. Apart from equipping students with skills and knowledge to respond to various community problems, the course also forms a strong base for learners who intend to pursue a career in community development.
By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Promote ethical practices and integrate gender issues in community development. Conceptualize and articulate emerging development issues in communities.
Pursue further studies related to community development.
The Certificate in Community Development will be covered in one academic year with three sessions, which may be undertaken on full-time or part time basis. To graduate, a student must successfully complete at least 60 Credit Factors. Credit factors shall consist of both community development concentration courses and enhancing courses from other disciplines. The course will be conducted through face-to-face lectures.
The diploma in education (primary) Programme takes a minimum of two years. A student should take a minimum of 90 CFs to qualify for diploma in
education, primary option. The Programme will be offered in fulltime, school-based, ODEL and blended approaches
